Gitbox App Reviews
Definitely worth every penny. It offers way more transparency into the current status of branches, etc. than any other interface Ive used. It also simplifies all git related activities such as pull, push, merge, branches, etc. Definitely recommend it to everyone already.
Looks good, as advertised
It looks great, works as advertised and its worth every penny. Buy it you wont regret it.
Currently my favourite GIT graphical user interface on OS X. Elegant in its simplicity. My favourite aspect is how all my repositories are on the left so I can switch between the projects I work on very easily.
When it works, it works great, just like I want it to work. But, occasionally, the app’s window disappears. AFAIK, the only way to get it back is to open Terminal and run "defaults delete com.oleganza.gitbox”, then relaunch Gitbox and re-add all your projects. Tedious.
Just to let people know this app no longer works as of OSX 10.9. Also looks like it’s no longer supported/maintained as the last update was done in 2012 Was a great app while it was working.
In terms of working with git, this is great. The only problem I have is that the list of remote branches doesn’t remove deleted branches on the server. This leads to a very full remote server list.
Great app, best one out there for sure. However, there is a bug in Mavericks that makes the windows disappear. The only way to fix this is by deleting the preferences which mean you’ll have to re-add all your repos. Very annoying when you’ve got a lot of them. Once that bug is fix, it’s a 5-star for sure.
While it may not do some of the advance features that more advanced Git users would like, it does all the commonly used git commands nicely. Pair it with something like kaleidoscope for diff comparing and merging and it’s great.
This gitbox App is worth every penny. It’s so easy to use. Just what I needed. Thank you! The only issue I have is removing tags, I can’t never get remove tag to work. Could be a defect?
Excellent. Worked great for a few years. Then one day it crashed and after that the window would no longer open. Activity showed it was busy doing something. I followed advice in the reivews here and deleted a file in the Library, then had to re-add all my projects to GitBox. Wish I could backup or archive all the projects Ive added somehow in case this happens again.
Still works on El Capitan. I realize its probably a dead end, but for just staging some files and committing them, its got a very nice, simple interface.
I run a larger consulting team in japan. Ive rolled out GItbox to our developers and have seen some interesting behavior/ Gitbox builds efficiencies. Its pretty wonderful. Worth the money. Which they had some Graphical aspects though especially on merging and such….
Very Good!
